Abstract

|
The authors analyzed 30 cases of autoantibodies that caused incompatible cross-
matchings in a two year-blood bank practice.
The results were summarized as follows:
1. The incidence of incompatibility due to red blood cell autoantiboies was higher than
that due to alloantiboies
2. Cold autoantibodies were more frequently met than warm autoantibodies.
3. It showed female preponderance.
4. Warrn autoantibodies were most frequently observed in young females, but cold
autoantibodies showed no difference in age distribution.
5. As to clinical diagnosis, idiopathic autoimmune hemlolytic anemia was most
6. In direct coombs test using commercial polyspecific and monospecific antisera, the
most common component which was found on sensitized red cells was complement in
cases of cold type autoantibodies, but that was concurrent IgG and complement in warm
types.
